Preliminary 0.20 Patchnotes
Emphasis on "preliminary", guys! Main FeaturesNew User Interface
We introduced a new Garage User Interface. The Garage is the first screen any new player sees and is therefore one of the most important elements of Armored Warfare. This includes both the Garage looks and its interface. In Update 0.20, the User Interface is undergoing a significant overhaul – here are a few examples:
Player name and portrait were moved to an independent sub-page called DossierThe crew and commander block was moved to the left side of the screenVehicle characteristics were moved to the right part of the screenComplete overhaul of the UI graphics
And much more. We do hope that both new and old players will find this new UI more comfortable and intuitive.
With the new User Interface comes a new Garage version – now you can check out how your vehicles look parked outside the garage. But that's not the only Garage we have in store for you – you can look forw…
Welcome to the newest Q&A Session where developers are answering questions posed by players. Are there any plans to add more player avatars or titles? We are not entirely satisfied with the current avatar and title system and are planning some an overhaul – but not in one of the updates coming in the near future, for now we have more important matters to deal with. However, we will take a look at the system in the foreseeable future and will consider how to improve its customization aspect. Do you have any plans to add homing (fire and forget) missiles? We are planning to run some experiments with such a system – at least by allowing players to lock a target by holding the right mouse button, in which case the missile will home in on the target even if the aim reticle moves or the target disappears from the line of sight. If the internal testing is successful, we might introduce such mechanism to certain missiles such as the Spike system. Do you have any plans for commanders who are ma…
The massively up-gunned 30mm Stryker cannon will double the range of existing .50-cal machine guns and add precision fires to the Infantry Carrier. The US Army continues to receive prototypes of a newly-engineered up-gunned Stryker infantry vehicle armed with a more lethal, longer-range 30mm cannon as compared with the currently installed .50-cal machine guns. The upgraded Stryker vehicle will be known as the Dragoon, the name of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment. The prototype also features a new fully-integrated commander's station, upgraded driveline, componentry and hull modifications, according to statements from the Army's Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems. Quick heads up. Update 0.20 is coming to RU PTS. We'll have a proper preview for tomorrow, but generally speaking, 0.20 is more of a 0.19 extension. The biggest feature is the new Garage UI. One of the most common pieces of feedback from new players and veterans alike is that the existing Garage interface is too confusing even for experienced users. One of the development priorities of the past months was therefore to introduce a new Garage Interface that will drastically enhance the player experience by providing a more intuitive way to manage your vehicles, game modes and all the other accessory systems. We are happy to introduce the results of our endeavor in Update 0.20!
